Since this pageant is being completely remodeled, I wanted this pageant to stand for something more than just a crown and title. So in searching for a good purpose and goal for this pageant to aspire to, I looked to a wonderful example already set by another pageant. The
Miss American Rose Pageant
, and it's Director, Lynanne White supplied the perfect example of a pageant organizing it's contestants as a group to postively affect someone's life. The Ms.American/World Mom Pageant has now followed in the footsteps of the wonderful, selfless example set by Ms White and her Miss American/World Rose Pageants and "adopted" a sponsor child through

Meet Nancy- the Ms. American Mom Pageant's adopted Sponsor Child. Nancy turned 6 on Feb 16, 2002 and lives with her Mom and Dad in Honduras.
The Ms. American Mom Pageant adopted Nancy on April 8, 2002 and intends to dedicate the next year to making sure that Nancy's needs are not only met, but maybe we will be able to fulfill some of her dreams as well.

How many times do you think Nancy has wished upon a star for something she thought may have been impossible....for someone to care enough to help just a little. The Ms. American Mom competition is focused on making a silent wish upon a star a reality for Nancy.
